Chris Johnson

Director of Surf/Raconteur Reconnaissance/Creative Catalyst & Copysmith (a.k.a. Marketing)

A native Californian, Chris graduated with honors from UC Santa Barbara, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. He also studied Media and Cultural Anthropology at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.

Chris arrived at BigSpeak from the world of film and television marketing, where he wrote, produced and edited numerous campaigns for a variety of studios and networks including: Disney, Columbia, Time Warner, HBO, Discovery, TBS, Cartoon Network and PBS.

With his finger on the pulse of the cultural zeitgeist, and his eye out for the Next Great Speaker, Chris creates and coordinates many of the marketing endeavors for BigSpeak.

When not reviewing the endless stream of speaker DVD’s that come his way, Chris can be found in, on and around the spectacular Santa Barbara waterfront as an avid surfer, swimmer, diver and competitive paddler with the local outrigger canoe racing team.

Chris also enjoys international/adventure travel to exotic locales such as Belize, Cuba, Bora Bora and Easter Island, to name a few, and indulges his predilection for our region’s world-class syrah and pinot-noir whenever possible.

Pet Peeve: Speaker videos with canned laugh-tracks.
