Stress Free For Good
According to a 2004 study by NIOSH, workplace stress cost companies more than $ 300 Million in direct medical costs and as much as three times that amount in decreased performance and productivity. Numerous other national surveys have documented that 30% to over 80% of individual employees report that excessive stress has a negative effect on their performance, productivity, and overall health.

In response to this crisis, Dr Kenneth Pelletier and his colleagues at the Stanford University School of Medicine and now at the UCSF and University of Arizona Schools of Medicine have researched and developed a “LifeSkills” program than can help any individual or organization learn specific, scientifically proven “LifeSkills” that will enable individuals to master the inherent stress of work rather than being destroyed by it.

One of Dr Pelletier’s research projects, funded by Merck, resulted in the creation of the “Stanford Presenteeism Scale” (SPS 6) which can accurately measure how “present” or focused and productive an individual is while at work. This SPS 6 is currently in use at over 50 of the Fortune 500 companies. Another research project that was used to develop specific LifeSkills focused on mastering “job strain” with a major, national banking chain. “Job strain” is a unique form of stress at work that is a major risk factor for coronary heart disease (CHD) and yet this deadly form of work stress can readily be managed once it is identified and influenced by the LifeSkills practices. These skills have been scientifically tested and proven with executives at one of largest airlines in the USA , at a major financial services corporation, in a national bank chain, and in the computer industry.

Based on this research, it is now a certainty, that both individuals and organizations can literally learn to recognize, respond to, and master the inherent stress of work to create an optimal performance zone where a person is stimulated by the demands of the task but not to the point where an excessive stress response becomes counter productive.

Deliverables and LifeSkills

Out of the “LifeSkills” program, individuals and/or organizations will be able to:
  • Learn the ten, critical LifeSkills that enhance performance and productivity
  • Recognize when stress and “job strain” (which is a risk factor for heart disease) have become excessive and how to regulate their response
  • Enhance their “Presenteeism” be learning to focus on a given task without distraction
  • Develop the LifeSkills necessary to remain within their Optimal Performance Zone no matter how demanding the work tasks is
  • Identify and use specific dietary practices and herbal supplements to further enhance their optimal performance
  • Enjoy optimal health both at work and at leisure by mastering the consequences of the inevitable stress inherent to any high demand profession
  • Quickly and voluntarily elicit the ability to creatively problem solve and generate new ideas and solutions free of distractions
