Laurie Skreslet became the first Canadian to summit Mt. Everest and he organized the successful 1986 team where Sharon Wood became the first woman in the Western hemisphere to summit Everest. Since then he has continued to guide internationally in North and South America, China, India, Nepal, Bhutan and the Canadian Arctic. In July, 2001 he published his first book “To the Top of Everest”, which achieved the Canadian best seller list in its category. A Certified Association of Canadian Mountain Guide, Laurie Skreslet has over 32 high-altitude expeditions to his credit, including over twenty expeditions to Mt. Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere.
