Patricia S. Seemann, MD is the founding partner and chief executive officer of a firm providing leadership and management counsel to senior executives of global corporations. Recognized as a leading expert on corporate intangibles and intellectual capital, (such as culture, behavior, reputation, communication, talent, etc.) for corporate value creation, organizational performance and personal effectiveness, Dr. Seemann has over a decade of experience advising leading executives of multinational organizations throughout the U.S. and Europe. A specialist in advising CEOs and senior executives on how to deal with issues concerning decision-making for improved corporate and personal performance, Patricia Seemann co-authored Social Capital: Securing Competitive Advantage in the New Economy and is a speaker at numerous conferences.

Patricia Seemann is one of the few consultants who have both Senior Executive experience as well as a longstanding high level consulting background at the CEO level. Prior to founding her own firm, Patricia Seemann was the key strategic advisor to the chairman and chief executive officer of Zurich Financial Services, responsible for the organization’s global group communications and group management board during the most extensive re-organization in the firm’s history. She led the communications function of the firm for the duration of the transformation project and through the most serious crisis the company had ever faced. In this capacity, Dr. Seemann oversaw organizational learning, branding, internal communications, media/public relations and corporate intranet/internet activities.

At Ernst and Young LLP, Patricia Seemann was part of the senior team responsible for building the firm’s knowledge management practice worldwide. At Hoffmann La Roche, the ground-breaking work of her team in knowledge management and organizational learning led to a major re-engineering process of corporate drug development and resulted in significant performance improvement.

Patricia Seemann’s approach has been termed ‘hands-on’, ‘highly refreshing’ and ‘relentlessly realistic’. Dr. Seemann relates this to her unique professional background. She has worked as a line manager, responsible for turning around and transforming corporate departments, as well as a consultant and expert whose work has been described as ‘classic’.

Dr. Patricia Seemann dedicated the early years of her career to various management roles within the pharmaceutical industry. After earning a doctoral degree in medicine from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, Dr. Seemann pursued four years of training in orthopedic surgery at the State Hospital, St. Gallen, Switzerland, and in biomechanics research at the Laboratory for Experimental Surgery in Davos, Switzerland.

Patricia Seemann held the position of group product manager with Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, responsible for global marketing of diverse pharmaceutical products. She was named to head the Corporate Regulatory Affairs and Scientific Documentation divisions of Ares-Serono Pharmaceuticals for two years. Dr. Seemann then joined F. Hoffmann-La Roche Pharmaceuticals, responsible for Knowledge Systems, where she pioneered intellectual capital processes to streamline global drug development

Patricia Seemann is a frequent speaker and lecturer on the topics of Corporate Governance, Value Creation and Intangible Assets, as well as on Power, Trust, and the Practices of an Effective CEO.

Dr. Seemann holds a Canadian citizenship, resides in Switzerland and is fluent in English, German and French.
