Contracts Associate

BigSpeak, a Santa Barbara-based speakers’ bureau, is expanding and currently seeking an outgoing and organized individual to join our team. The primary role of the Contracts Associate is to review and manage a high volume of agreements with our world-renowned professional speakers, political figures, celebrities, international global thought leaders, philanthropists, and entertainers for various events and conferences around the globe.  


  • Reviewing and tracking contracts in a timely manner.
  • Communicating with internal team as needed to resolve contract discrepancies.
  • Managing contract files (paperless) according to established file protocol.
  • Effective use of CRM system (ACT & SalesForce).
  • Collaborate with all departments for continual improvement.
  • Continue to expand on electronic contracting capabilities to streamline and improve contract flow.


  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Efficient multi-tasker with ability to adapt to changing priorities and timelines
  • Take charge attitude: Initiates work and projects on own
  • Excellent communications skills and command of English language, written and verbal
  • Knowledge of contract terms and verbiage.
  • Collaborative and honest attitude with inclination to help others
  • Highly organized and process and results driven
  • Knowledge of G Suite and SalesForce desired

Acting as an Agent/Consultant for business thought leaders, renowned authors and Hollywood celebrities on the lecture circuit as well as an educational consultant to corporate learning and development programs can be exciting and glamorous (think Entourage, only with less Ari, more gold and no drama) but it is also primarily a consultative sales position, and you will spend a majority of your time on the phone advising clients, cultivating relationships and closing deals. Proactive outreach in addition to occasional leads, and previous clients and prospects are provided.

Selling to corporations, including Fortune 1000 companies, trade associations and town halls, our agent/consultants are also responsible for overseeing all aspects of events, from contract to itinerary to payment. This is a base salary plus commission position and/or higher all commission compensation opportunity with very high earning potential.


  • Minimum of three years industry sales experience
  • Professional phone presence and comfort making cold calls is expected
  • Experience servicing events and customers
  • An abiding passion for business, personal and professional development, and current events
  • Proficient and fast typer
  • Diplomacy and grace under pressure
  • Extremely detail oriented and big picture focused
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM programs

  • Business consulting background
  • Some experience in Entertainment, PR or media
