About Keynote Speaker Herman Edwards

Coach Herman “Herm” Edwards is a current ESPN football analyst and a former NFL and college head coach. He appears across a variety of shows, including SportsCenter, Get Up, and multiple ESPN radio programs. Edwards also co-hosts The Monday Blitz, a studio show launched in 2023 that airs every Monday during football season.

Edwards is the former head coach at Arizona State University, where he led the Sun Devils to three bowl games in his first four seasons. While at ASU, he also served as a Professor of Practice in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, contributing as a guest lecturer and leading discussions on the intersection of sports and media.

Previously, Edwards served as head coach of the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. He led both franchises to postseason appearances in his first season as head coach.

As a player, Edwards spent nine seasons in the NFL as a defensive back with the Philadelphia Eagles. He never missed a game during his career, started in Super Bowl XV, and recorded 33 career interceptions, which remains tied for second-most in Eagles franchise history.

Known as a dedicated team leader and ambassador for the game, Edwards has received numerous honors, including Walter Camp Foundation Man of the Year, Team ESPN Commentator of the Year, and the Shell Legacy Award.
