The Future of School is All About Adaptation with Heather McGowen

Heather McGowen, a top Future of Work speaker has recently been featured in a Nexxworks article about the future of education. COVID-19 has caused some major shifts in our approach to school (most will be attending online lessons in the fall), and McGowen argues that the future of education is all about adaption. McGowen argues, “We are often asked to provide a skills roadmap based on the outdated model of education that focuses on pouring pre-determined and codified skills and knowledge into the heads of future workers. But here’s the problem: the world is simply moving too fast for that process to work effectively.”

Instead, McGowen writes that students need to be motivated to adapt instead of focusing on one skill. This will help students take advantage of this unprecedented time of remote learning.
