Three Journalism Speakers Bringing Unique Perspectives to Our Roster

BigSpeak Speakers Bureau prides itself on maintaining a carefully curated roster of top keynote speakers in a variety of fields. Potential speakers are carefully considered before being offered a place in our books, ensuring our team members are actively involved with the onboarding process and connect with the presenters we partner with. As such, it’s always exciting for our team and our clients when new faces join our catalog.

Last month, we highlighted three fresh faces in tech and future trends we’re thrilled to be working with. Here, we’re recognizing three new partners with backgrounds in broadcasting. These speakers have on-the-ground insights into some of the modern world’s biggest upheavals and instrumental events, offering audiences direct lines to pertinent issues in any industry.

Journalist, author and consultant Gene Marks is a former columnist for The New York Times and The Washington Post and has penned five books on business management. With a background that allows him to understand finance, politics, general economic trends and the technological advances that can make or break a company, he focuses on helping small to mid-sized organizations thrive. He regularly contributes to The Guardian, The Hill, Forbes, and The Washington Times, among others, and appears frequently on major media channels, such as Fox News and CNBC.

Former anchor and reporter for NBC Mariana Atencio is a best-selling author with a viral TEDx talk that has been translated into 13 different languages. The winner of the Peabody Award for her journalism around the issue of illegal weapons smuggling between the US and Mexico, she has also received the Gracie Award for her work on the documentary PRESSionados, which centered on the freedom of the press in Latin America. Her work as a journalist inspired her to embrace the power of authenticity and connection, and she now empowers others to harness their individuality and supercharge their careers.

Wendee Lee Curtis is an experienced news anchor and Broadway veteran with an excellent understanding of how to build on-screen or on-stage confidence, presence, and engagement between presenters and their audiences. As an instructor at Cornell University and frequent keynote speaker, she puts her experiences collaborating with Jo Jackson, Lisa Minnelli, Tony Danza, and Rachel DeAlto (to name but  a few) to work helping professionals and business students master the art of storytelling and connection.
