All in the Family: Talented Speakers You May Have Forgotten Were Related

When people speak about a family business, they’re probably referring to a quaint mom-and-pop shop, but as the professional speaking industry develops, we’re starting to see families with multiple members in the business. It’s still too early to say if one day there will be speaking dynasties where keynoting and presentation skills are passed down from parent to child, but it’s safe to say that it’s becoming more common to see relatives working together to educate and inspire audiences.

Here, we’ll be highlighting four sets of siblings who have gone into the business, either intentionally as a pair or independently. All eight of them are outstanding speakers in their own right, yet their insights and knowledge are often amplified when considered alongside those of their sibling partner.

If you’ve spent much time on our blog or subscribe to our newsletter, inspirational keynote speaker and entrepreneur Molly Bloom will not require an introduction. One of our top-booked speakers of all time, she’s a bestselling author and former professional skier whose book Molly’s Game was adapted into an Oscar-nominated film.

Much like his sister, recent addition to our roster Jeremy Bloom is a high-achieving athlete, entrepreneur, speaker and author. A three-time world champion skier who has competed twice in the Olympics and won eleven gold medals at the World Cup, he knows plenty about success and the countless failures and obstacles one must tackle in order to reach their goals. We’re fortunate enough to have exclusive speaking partnerships with both Bloom siblings

Our second talented duo of keynote speaking siblings is a sister-sister pair of educational speakers (and identical twins!) Emily and Amelia Nagoski. Emily Nagoski is a stress management speaker and sex educator, as well as the author of the NYT bestseller Come as You Are.

Amelia Nagoski is a conductor and assistant professor at Western New England University with an interest in communications science  and the application of psychological research. The sisters are the co-authors of the bestselling Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle, and are available for keynote speaking engagements both as individuals and a pair.

Brothers David and Tom Gardener are the founders of the Motley Fool, a multimedia financial services organization. Both are finance experts and economics keynote speakers, and have co-authored three bestselling books, including an investment guide for teenagers. Tom Gardner has shared his insights with audiences large and small, imparting lessons everyone should have learned in school on money management and financial literacy.

David Gardner speaks on current business trends as well as money management, aiming to help the people of the world become smarter, safer investors, and is also an expert on corporate culture, something reflected by the Motley Fool’s selection by Glassdoor as the No.1 Medium-Sized company to work for in the United States.

Our final twosome is composed of brothers Bert and John Jacobs, the founders of the lifestyle brand Life is Good. Bert Jacobs serves as the company’s Chief Executive Optimist, and John Jacobs is the Chief Creative Optimist. Together, they created a brand now valued at $100 million and sold by over 2,000 retailers, and they also give keynote presentations on the importance of optimism, innovation, and the power of kindness. The brothers also co-wrote Life is Good: The Book, and are available to present individually or as a pair.
