Arne Elias Corneliussen developed a unique and genuine passion for international relations and history at a very early age. Travels around the world from childhood formed his international personality and zest for exploration and instilled in him an eye-opening and natural ability to connect with people on the ground from all cultures, in local communities and from different religions. This gave him a unique ability to reflect, listen and observe the world with a unique lense from different perspectives, which he brings into his eye-opening and inspiring keynote presentations and speaking engagements. Arne conducted his university education in the United States, Egypt and Chile and he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio in 1998; and a Master of Arts in International Relations and a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs at Syracuse University in New York in 2000.
He served as an officer in the Norwegian Armed Forces as a part of NATO’s operation in Kosovo from 2001 until 2002. Since 2002 he held different roles in the corporate sector. He formed NRCI in 2010. Arne travelled to 115 countries and he regularly conducts long overland expeditions alone by train, car, bus and boat across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America where he maps political, security and business risks, infrastructure developments, logistics corridors and local conditions. He traveled on 10 fact-finding expeditions to 42 countries in Africa and he crossed 28 countries on the African continent alone by public bus. In the fall of 2017 he travelled on an expedition by train, bus and shared taxis from Shanghai across China, Central Asia and the Caucasus to Istanbul to map infrastructure developments, logistics clusters, and the geopolitical landscape along One Belt One Road – or the New Silk Road as it is also called, which China now develops. Arne travelled to many of the most dangerous countries and regions in the world and he is comfortable in high-risk environments. He brings a unique combination of an intrepid explorer, insightful strategic advisor and businessman, and he is very knowledgeable. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society of London – a world-leading society for geographers and explorers. Arne Elias Corneliussen maintains close dialogue with a vast network of insightful contacts in academia, business, diplomacy, and governments worldwide.
