About Keynote Speaker Joey Lawrence

About Speaker Joey Lawrence…

Joey Lawrence is an American actor, singer, producer, director and host. The Philadelphia native began his career in the early 1980s, starring with Neil Carter in Gimme a Break. He is also known for his roles as Joey Russo in Blossom, Joe Roman in Brotherly Love, and Joe Longo in Melissa & Joey. He is the only actor to have successfully taken four television series to over 100 episodes (as chronicled by People magazine’s cover story on him) and this year marks his 38th in the business.

Lawrence got his start at the age of five doing commercials in New York City. By the end of his first year in the business, he had done over sixty national spots and was all over the television. He captured the attention of the famous executive producer Frederick De Cordova of the Tonight Show with Jimmy Carson, who booked him on the show immediately. Lawrence brought down the house as he sang and tap-danced two songs with Doc Severisen and his orchestra. After Joey’s sit-down interview with the legendary Carson, that was so memorable it ended up on Carson’s Best of Series Collection, NBC immediately signed Joey to an over all deal. He went on to star in four successful tv shows, for which he received Golden Globe and People’s Choice awards. he also headlined three broadway shows, including playing Billy Flynn in the infamous Chicago, and appeared in numerous feature films, starring opposite Joh Travolta, John Candy, Eva Mendez, and Andy Garcia.
