About Keynote Speaker Scott Wilson

Scott Wilson is senior national correspondent of The Washington Post, covering California and the American West. Wilson previously served as the paper’s National Editor; White House bureau chief; deputy assistant managing editor for foreign news; Jerusalem bureau chief; Middle East correspondent based in Amman, Jordan; and, Andean bureau chief based in Bogota, Colombia.

For his work covering the Obama administration, Wilson received the 2011 Gerald R. Ford Prize for Distinguished Reporting on the Presidency and the 2012 Aldo Beckman Award from the White House Correspondents’ Association.

For his work abroad, Wilson received awards and citations from the Overseas Press Club and the Interamerican Press Association.

In 2020, Wilson shared the Pulitzer Prize in Explanatory Journalism with a Post team. A native of Santa Barbara, Calif., Wilson joined The Post in 1997. He is a graduate of Amherst College and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, where he won the David Marcus Eibel Scholarship Award. Wilson lives in Santa Barbara, Ca., with his wife, Andrea. They have three children.
