About Keynote Speaker Sir Ranulph Fiennes

About Sir Ranulph Fiennes…

Described by the Guinness Book of World Records as the ‘World’s greatest living explorer’, Sir Ranulph Fiennes went further and longer in solo expeditions than anyone else before. As a leadership speaker, Ranulph’s after dinner and keynote motivational speeches focus on the drive and focus needed to survive in some of the most hostile environments possible.

Fiennes was born in 1944, Ranulph served for a total of eight years with the Royal Scots Greys and SAS before becoming the youngest Captain of the British Army. Ranulph began exploring in 1969, leading the British Expedition of the White Nile, this initial journey became the keystone to Ranulph’s future career in expedition whilst establishing himself as the world’s most prominent explorer.

Ranulph’s infamous ‘Transglobe’ expedition between 1979 and 1982 was the world’s first journey around the world’s polar axis at surface level. Fiennes swiftly followed this feat with the furthest north polar unsupported expedition record in 1986. Ranulph carried on to find lost settlements and break new records for unsupported crossings of the arctic.

During keynote and after dinner speeches, Fiennes draws analogies between business leadership tasks faced everyday to tackling nature’s most savage challenges. Both the elements crucial to a successful expedition and maximising success in business and leadership are relatable to Ranulph’s speeches and presentations. Focusing upon subjects of patience, enthusiasm, motivation and teamwork, Ranulph’s extensive experience will ensure listeners come away from the speech with a new mindset.

Ranulph is equally adept hosting and acting as a conference facilitator, his humorous and approachable style relating well with the crowd, allowing an interactive feel to the event.
