About Speaker Andre Norman…
Known to many as “The Ambassador Of Hope”, Andre Norman’s experience and expertise is what empowers him to speak about and create training programs for families in crisis, substance abuse and teen drinking, re-entry, ex-offender, gangs, prison reform, and mentoring. Andre travels to schools, churches, and community centers around the world to serve as a mentor and friend to youth and community members alike.
From illiteracy to gang activity, Andre’s childhood prepared him for nothing less than a life of crime and violence. This behavior eventually led Andre to be sentenced to over 100 years in prison, with no sign of parole. A natural-born leader, he quickly rose to the top of the prison gang where he managed criminal and gang activities from within the confines of the correctional facility. His notoriety grew and Andre found himself in solitary confinement. There, a light turned on inside of Andre and he made the decision to turn his life around. He did just that and was paroled after serving a 15-year sentence. From that moment on, Andre has never looked back.
Having been exposed to both sides of the fence, Andre pulled from his life experiences and launched Project Footprints, an organization designed to connect individuals and corporations who want to make a difference with those who need a helping hand.
Our past events have featured some of the world’s most respected visionaries including Sir Richard Branson, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Dr. Stephen R. Covey and many others – so being one of the top rated speakers at one of our events is a significant accomplishment. What amazes me about Andre’s incredible presentations at our programs is that he has consistently ranked at the very top of the feedback from attendees. I believe it’s because Andre is one of the most powerful and mission-driven speakers in the world, and I’m grateful to have met him and to call him a friend.
Andre recently spoke at GOT – our annual entrepreneurial summit at MIT. His message was inspiring and he was one of our highest rated speakers. It’s no surprise that Andre left our gathering with many new friends and admirers.
Andre Norman was truly inspirational speaking to Correctional Educators at the 22nd Annual MA Correctional Education Association conference in April 2012. His life story – disappointments, failures, accomplishments, and ultimate success served as a true motivation for the teachers, counselors, and administrators in attendance. He is the reason that we do what we do on a daily basis; we believe an “Andre” exists within each of our students.
Andre’s matter-of-fact and honest message forces the audience to challenge their current values and beliefs in an attempt to align them to a life of integrity, dignity, and selflessness. Andre’s words are a must for every high school student.
