Joshua Medcalf is a bestselling author who has published 12 books, including the cultural phenomenon, Chop Wood Carry Water, which in its 10th year was featured on the cover of the Wall Street Journal in August 2025.
His work lives at the intersection of mindset, heart posture, culture, and sustainable excellence.
After asking himself, “What would I do if money didn’t matter?” Joshua walked away from a conventional path—leaving Duke, passing on law school scholarships, and moving into a homeless shelter to serve others.
He later founded Train to be CLUTCH and created the first mental training apps in the world for basketball, soccer, and golf. His work has influenced athletes and executives across the NBA, NFL, PGA, LPGA, MLS, MLB, and Fortune 500 companies.
Joshua currently serves as the Chief Alchemist of Heart Posture and Mindset at Aviatrix and is a strategic advisor to CEOs and senior leaders across finance and business.
