We are actively working to have our public roster current with Keynote Speech titles, and Summaries. Some Speakers do not have a set title or summary for programs. Instead they customize for each. Other speakers only do moderated conversations. If you do not see content here, please contact us. We also have ample information off line that we can share. Or in the event we do not have the information, we can contact the speaker to provide and share.

About Keynote Speaker Professor Maurice Biriotti

About Speaker Maurice Biriotti…

Professor Maurice Biriotti is a founding Trustee of The SHM Foundation.

Until 1996, Professor Biriotti was a full-time academic, holding posts at the Universities of Cambridge, Birmingham and Zurich. His published work covers literature, philosophy, anthropology and the dynamics of cultural change. He then co-founded SHM, a strategic consultancy where he is now Chief Executive. SHM grew out of the insight that human motivation is at the root of all business success and is critical to business innovation and the delivery of competitive advantage. Professor Biriotti has applied this insight successfully across both the public and private sectors and it remains at the heart of all of the work the company carries out.

In the public sector, Maurice has worked with organisations that include the NHS, the General Medical Council (GMC), the Department of Health, the Central Office of Information, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), the Department of Transport, and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). He has used research into motivation, both to initiate the implementation of new projects and to improve existing cultures, processes, structures and ways of working. He has helped a number of public sector organisations to bridge the gap between policy and practice, from work with the former Department for Education and Skills (DfES) on improving decision-making for young people at crucial points in their educational careers, to small-scale projects (often pro bono) with schools, colleges, and community organisations.

In the private sector, Professor Biriotti has led research into customer behaviour for clients such as Tesco, Orange, Google and the Royal Mail, and has worked with leading organisations like Unilever, Diageo and DHL, both in the UK and internationally, to guide major change initiatives and to help them manage their multiple complex outsourcing relationships.

Professor Biriotti is currently Adjunct Professor to the School of Management and Marketing, University of Ireland (Cork) and Visiting Professor in Humanities and Business within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at University College London (UCL). He is also a Board and Development Council Member of Tomorrow’s People, a charitable trust dedicated to helping people out of long-term unemployment, Business Governor of City Lit College in London, Key Advisor to the Barbican’s Creative Director, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
