Led by President and CEO, Tony Bingham, the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) is at the forefront of trends in learning and workforce development.

As the world’s largest professional association dedicated to the training and development field, ASTD offers programs and services to help members improve individual and organizational performance through learning. Tony Bingham is also the co?author of The New Social Learning published in 2010. Through stories and case studies, he and Marcia Conner offer compelling evidence for the training profession on how to transform learning using social media. Tony’s 2007 book, Presenting Learning, was co?authored by Tony Jeary. In 2009, under Tony Bingham’s direction, ASTD expanded its reach with the acquisitions of The Bureaucrat, Inc. and its quarterly journal, The Public Manager, and the United Professional Sales Association (UPSA). These affiliations help ASTD to spotlight the value of learning and its impact on achieving results in the public sector and professional sales field.

With broad?based business, financial, operational, and technical management expertise, Tony Bingham joined ASTD in 2001 as the Chief Operating Officer / Chief Information Officer. He became President and CEO in February 2004.
