About Keynote Speaker Jonny Moseley

Jonny Moseley is an Olympic and World Cup champion in mogul skiing and rated by Ski Magazine as one of the top ten most influential skiers of all time. His innovative techniques and tricks changed the sport of freestyle skiing. At the Olympics in 1998, Jonny incorporated a snowboard style grab into his 360-degree spin making it easy for the judges to award him the gold medal. His performance helped ignite a re-birth of the ski industry known as Freeskiing.  As one of the pioneers of Freeskiing, Jonny continued to lead and advocate for changes on behalf of his peers in the sport he loves. He challenged the US Ski Team to allow him to compete in professional events and became the first skier to medal in both the X Games and the Olympics. In 2002 Jonny took on the International Skiing Federation (FIS) to allow him to perform his signature move, the Dinner Roll, at the Olympics. The FIS approved but the judges at the 2002 Olympics awarded him 4th place. The following season the FIS removed their ban on inverted tricks and increased the point value of the Dinner Roll; had the higher degree of difficulty been applied to the trick at the 2002 Olympics, Jonny would have found himself on top of the podium. Today, every winning competitor on the World Cup circuit performs a version of the Dinner Roll.

As a result of his 2002 Olympic performance, Jonny hosted Saturday Night Live   leading him into a career in TV hosting and commentary.  Starting with MTV’s Challenge Series, Jonny went on host American Ninja Warrior on NBC and the Jones and Moseley show on FS1. Jonny is also the Olympic and World Cup Freestyle skiing analyst for NBC and narrator of the annual Warren Miller Entertainment ski movie.

Jonny ‘s career was launched and supported by working closely with great companies. Jonny enjoys all sides of this equation and continues to provide creative PR and marketing efforts as well as product development assistance for the brands he loves. Jonny is currently supporting the launch efforts of a product called “Airvue” that he helped develop for one of his partner companies, Kenu. He is also supporting the launch of a new snack food brand, Iota. One of Jonny’s favorite roles is evangelizing for the sport of skiing as the spokesperson for his home mountain Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows.

Besides working side by side with his long-term partners, Jonny enjoys telling his story and sharing his insights with corporate groups both on and off the hill. Jonny has delivered over 100 talks and keynote addresses including the commencement address for UC Berkeley.  His most recent clients include AIG, Raymond James, Chase, Tech Data, Marketo and Vistage.

Jonny lives in northern California with his wife Malia and two young sons.
