About Keynote Speaker Kelley O’Hara…

At only 29 years old, Kelley O’Hara has already been celebrated for her achievements at every level of soccer. Starting from her roots in her hometown Fayetteville, Georgia, Kelley was a high school all-American that led her team to a Georgia state championship in 2006. She went on to play at Stanford University, where she majored in science, technology and society with a focus in environmental engineering. While there, Kelley was awarded the 2009 Hermann Trophy as collegiate soccer’s top player.

After competing at various levels of the U.S. Soccer youth program Kelley made her first appearance for the U.S. Women’s National Team against Mexico on March 28, 2010.  She earned a spot on the roster for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and helped Team USA win a gold medal.  After being asked to switch positions from forward to defender, Kelley played every minute of every match in the 2012 Olympics – a total of 570 minutes of soccer played across six matches.

In 2015, Kelley and the U.S. Women’s National Team followed their gold medal by winning the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which was the team’s third overall World Cup title but first since 1999. Kelley defined herself in that tournament by showcasing her versatility and by scoring the dramatic game clinching goal against Germany in the semi-finals.  In 2016, Kelley played for Team USA in a run to the quarterfinals of the Rio Olympic Games. Most recently, Kelley became the 36th player in U.S. women’s soccer history to play in 100 National Team games, which she achieved on Friday, September 15th, 2017.

Outside of her play with the U.S. Women’s National Team, Kelley was drafted by the FC Gold Pride as the number 3 overall selection in the Women’s Professional Soccer League in 2010 and helped them win the WPS Championship in her first season.  She currently plays professionally and is a Co-Captain for Sky Blue FC in New Jersey in the National Women’s Soccer League.
