Peter Guber Awarded UCLA’s Highest Honor, the UCLA Medal

Congratulations to Peter Guber, exclusive speaker to BigSpeak, Chairman and CEO of Mandalay Entertainment Group, and UCLA professor of over 40 years, for being awarded the UCLA Medal on Dec. 4 in a special ceremony at the Chancellor’s Residence.

The UCLA medal is the highest honor bestowed by UCLA for individuals with extraordinary accomplishments. Since the award was established in 1979, recipients have included national and international leaders in government, education, science, industry and the arts.

Guber has a long list of extraordinary accomplishments in numerous fields to qualify him for such an honor: entertainment (Best Picture for Rainman), sports (two NBA Championships as co-owner of Golden State Warriors), and business (bestselling author of Tell to Win).

However, it’s his dedication that has been most extraordinary. Guber has been a mentor and inspiration to thousands of students during his tenure as a professor at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, and the Anderson School of Management, for the past 40 years.
